On Friday, June 5th, Colts Punter and our Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassador, Pat McAfee, visited Kelsay Farms in Whiteland. As part of our June Dairy Month celebration, McAfee toured the free stall barn, milked a cow, fed a calf, and led a group of local Fuel Up to Play 60 students through football agility drills.
It was McAfee’s first time on a dairy farm and we wanted to show him the ins and outs of the hard work that goes into Kelsay Farms. Though he wasn’t required to arrive during a 5 am milking, he did make it on time for the 9 am time slot, and he was ready to go! McAfee made it known he did no “Googling” prior to his trip on the farm– he wanted every step in the dirt to be the first experience, and what a day it was!
McAfee is pictured below with members of the close knit Kelsay family.
McAfee fed not one, but two dairy calves
June Dairy Month is always a fun time when working for the American Dairy Association Indiana, but this year, especially, because National Dairy Council turns 100!
A birthday as grand as that has given us even more reason to appreciate dairy farms, and the Kelsay’s farm was the perfect place to host our Fuel Up to Play 60 ambassador and students, and we were so pleased to show them all what life on a dairy farm is all about!
