MSD Lawrence Township to Receive $10,000 ADAI/Colts Fuel Up to Play 60 Grant

The incorrigible but thoroughly lovable Blue, mascot of the Indianapolis Colts, brings his “Blue’s School Show!” to Winding Ridge Elementary on Mon Sept 12 from 1:15 to 2:15p – one of 70 stops he’ll make throughout this school year. The show encourages students to be the best they can be in all aspects of life.

At approximately 1:45p, Blue will bring several parties together for a significant presentation: Deb Osza, general manager of American Dairy Association Indiana (ADAI – representing Indiana’s Dairy Farm Families), will present a $10,000 check to the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township. The check represents a Fuel Up to Play 60/Indianapolis Colts Hometown Grant. The $10,000 will be distributed among Lawrence Township Schools to activate and solidify successful health & wellness programs. Winding Ridge Elementary was selected to host “Blue’s School Show!” and the check presentation due to its long-time participation in the Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative.

Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program of the National Dairy Council and the NFL, in collaboration with the US Department of Agriculture. The initiative encourages youth to lead healthier lives by making wise nutrition choices and engaging in at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Indianapolis Colts players who have served as local Fuel Up to Play 60 ambassadors include Pat McAfee, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai, Donald Brown, and current ambassador, Dwayne Allen.
