Introducing Dairy Learning (D-Learning)

With kids home from school, continuing to work hard through E-learning, we want to introduce a new, and exciting weekly activity series, Dairy Learning (D-Learning).

If you follow us on social media (@INDairy), you’ve been given priority access to a few of the resources we can provide.

For the foreseeable future, we will be posting a D-Learning activity or video every single day. Each day will have its own theme related to dairy.

This Week In Review (Week of March 23rd)

In case you missed it, here’s what we’ve shared this past week. Everything from engaging activities to fun videos and movies to watch!

Monday, March 23rd

We shared one of our favorite Moooovies, “Milk From Cow to You: Episode 1 Farm Life”. This episode takes you through the day in the life of one of our incredible Indiana dairy farmers. If you weren’t able to catch it when we posted it to our social media channels, you can find it here.

Tuesday, March 24th

Tuesday, we took the time to celebrate National Ag Day! If you have the chance, share your appreciation for dairy farmers and all those folks involved in agriculture across the nation (virtually that is). Here are a few ideas on how you can do so…

  • Send a letter thanking a local farmer
  • Post on your social media page letting those in agriculture how much you appreciate them
  • Record a video and share it through social media or email

Wednesday, March 25th

Wednesday included a great activity to get kids and families up and moving even while they’re at home. One of the activities is briefly explained below, but you can find full details plus additional activities here.

The next time you go for a walk, turn it into make-believe action! Encourage your kids to begin a story and play along with new twists and turns. You can use this time to tie in physical activity (“Hop on one foot until we reach the bridge.”).

Thursday, March 26th

Thursdays are one of the most exciting days! We’ll be posting clever, creative activities that you can do at home.

This week we’ve posted a tutorial video for a toilet paper roll cow craft! All you need to execute the craft is scissors, tape, pink, black, and white construction paper, and our downloaded template!

Friday, March 27th

Foodie Friday is dairy-licious! This week we shared a great video demonstrating how to make a chocolate shake milkshake! This recipe not only will satisfy your sweet tooth, but also provides great nutrition in a healthy snack. You can find the video recipe here.

Be sure to check back at the end of each week for a summary of all the great resources we’ve shared! #WinnersDrinkMilk
