“Refuel with Milk” School Athletic Grant Application

Open through November 22, 2022

American Dairy Association Indiana is supporting Indiana school-based youth athletics with grant funding of up to $2,200 to purchase a cooler to keep milk cold and readily available after student workouts.

Experts agree that the body requires immediate fuel to recover and rehydrate during the first 30 minutes after a workout. Low-fat chocolate milk is nature’s recovery drink for athletes, with a perfect mix of carbs and protein to rebuild muscles and restore fluid and electrolyte loss. A partnership between food service and athletics will be important to continue supporting student athletes with this program.

The application must demonstrate how funding will incorporate additional dairy foods (milk, yogurt, cheese) into school meals program, increase participation in school meals and/or how funding will be used as part of a pilot program with school athletics or other after school programs.
