“Refuel with Milk” School extracurricular Grant Application
Open through Tuesday, November 12, 2024
American Dairy Association Indiana is supporting Indiana school-based youth athletics and other extracurricular groups by granting glass front reach-in refrigerators to keep milk cold and readily available after student workouts, practices, matches and games.
Experts agree that the body requires immediate fuel to recover and rehydrate within the first 30 minutes after exercise. Low-fat milk is nature’s recovery drink, with a mix of carbohydrates and protein to rebuild muscles, and naturally occurring electrolytes to restore fluid and electrolyte loss. A partnership between the school nutrition department and the grantee will be important to continue supporting students with this program.

2024 Fall Grant Information Coming Soon!
American Dairy Association Indiana sees the importance of meeting your student’s where they’re at when it comes to food and beverage trends, but also as it relates to meal service location and innovation. What better way to level up your daily participation than by making meals more nutrient dense AND more accessible and relevant to your students.
This fall there are two options to choose from based on the needs of your program and customers.
Option #1: Mobile Yogurt Parfait Bar Kit
With the “build your own” trend still relevant heading in to 2024, why not allow your students the option to create their own protein packed fruit and yogurt parfait? This mobile meal cart comes equipped with a Coldmaster® CoolCheck™ pan to give you peace of mind, as well as four additional stainless steel pans, three cut out dome covers for easy access and four wire baskets for additional meal components. Add a grain component along with your servings of yogurt and fruit and you’ve got yourself a reimbursable meal. But don’t forget the milk!
BONUS: When not serving parfaits, this can be converted into a typical meal cart that can be used for Second Chance Breakfast or if you just want to meet the students as they enter the building each morning looking for a way to Fuel Up for the day ahead!
